My corrections again.

I will be grateful if you check them. If I am not mistaken, either can be used in sentences number; 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, well, almost in each sentence. Maybe when there is no context there can't be only one possible answer?
Like in this situation ;
1.When I
was washing/washed the floor, I found my old toy under the sofa.
2.When granny was
reading/read a book on the sofa, she
fell/was falling aslep.
3.When I
was going/went to the stadium, I met Kate and Ann.
4.When
I was looking/looked out of the window, the children were playing hide-and seek.
5.At seven o'clock yesterday I
was going/went to the theatre.
6.We
were playing/played in the yard the whole evening yesterday.
7.What
were you doing/did you do yesterday? I
translated/was translating a very long article.
8.He
was getting up/got up at seven o'clock yesterday.
9.I
was reading/read a book at six o'clock yesterday.
10. Mother was
drinking/drank tea at seven o'clock yesterday.
11. Father was
watching/watched TV at ten o'clock yesterday.
12.When I
was going/went to the musem , I saw a big crowd of people in the street.
13.They
were palying/played in the yard the whole evening yesterday.
14.They
played/were playing in the yard in the evening yersterday.
