Recently I have changed my job. I commuted to two kindergardens one month ago. I had been teaching there only for two months. I resigned because I spent more money on the bus fares than I earned. I am also giving private German lessons at the moment.

There is nothing wrong with your sentences (had been teaching is fine), but there might be more natural ways to write this. One thing I didn't understand was the use of "there": I had been teaching there. You mentioned two places, and there means only one place, so it's a bit confusing. I think this is what you meant:

I found a new job recently. Until a month ago, I had been teaching at two kindergartens, commuting between them by bus, but I resigned after two months because I found that I was spending more on bus fares than I was earning. I am also giving private German lessons at the moment.
