I couldn't sleep at night. I was tossing and turning in my bed all night long.

If I would like to use past perfect continuous in this sentence how it would change the meaning of the sentence:

I couldn't sleep a night. I had been tossing and turning in my bed all night long.

Dear Clive,

How about "wrestling in bed" since we have wrestling sleeping?

Does it sound normal?

Thank you in advance,

Hi,

How about "wrestling in bed" since we have wrestling sleeping?

Does it sound normal? No, sounds odd.

Like you were fighting with your bed-mate. Or even something sexual.

Hi,

No.

Sounds like the 'tossing and turning all night' happened before the 'couldn't sleep all night'.

This is not the meaning of the original.

Thank you.

But I've heard that a sound sleep is called "sleep like a log" and contrary to that is the "wrestling sleeping".

If not, would you please give me the correct terms for these kinds of sleeping?

Regards,

Iman
