Past and present perfect

Say I'm in my house with my friend and the conversation goes like this:
"Woah, that chair moved."
"No, it didn't."
"I'm pretty sure it did... It has/had never moved before" Which one?

Top answer

Because the movement was just a few seconds ago, natural English is It has never moved before , or simply It never moved before. Are you writing about a poltergeist?
