Past 10 years? nearly 10 years?

I am talking about a development that took place in the past 10 years. But it's not exactly 10 years; it's almost ten years. So what shall I say? "In the past 10 years, in the past 10 years or so, in nearly 10 years, we have been" don't fit well in this case.

Thanks in advance!

It would help if you gave the whole sentence.
