Passive Voice doubt

Dear all, in the passage:

"After concluding a preliminary analysis of the document, the investigators concluded that the results presented were manipulated".

The passive construction in bold allowed the writer to:
(A) omit the subject of the acion
(B) emphasize the importance of the fact
(C) point out a contradiction
(D) create a doubt.

Can I consider alternatives A and B correct?

thanks!
