Today I took an exam and one of the questions was :

Turn the sentence below from active to passive :

They gave her two prizes.

a) She was given two prizes.

b) Two prizes were given to her.

So which is correct ? What's the difference ?

Both are correct. Both count as the passive of the original sentence.

a) uses the indirect object as the subject of the passive.
b) uses the direct object as the subject of the passive.
