On July 4,1934, Marie Curie died in Paris, killed by her own experiments. She died of radiation poisoning and may have been the first person to do so. Here the person was not the cause of her death, which is justified "by killed by her own experiments". But the underlined portion,does not agree with it.
I thought it is so because "....been the first person to have been done so" sounds odd.
