Passive voice

Hello....

How can we put these into passive voice?

1. They made him running. ---> "He was made running" or "He was made to run"?

2. I had you tailed. --- "You were had tailed." seems to be wrong. Maybe "You were made tailed" or "You were made to be tailed"?

3. I will have you watched. ---- "You will be had watched"? or "You will be made watched"? or "You will be made to be watched"?

"They made him running" is not correct (except in a very unusual sense that certainly isn't intended). "They made him run" would be correct, and the passive would be "He was made to run (by them)". I don't think there is any direct way to make a passive out of (2) or (3).

The correct sentence for #1 is:

They made him run.

These sentences are examples of the causative verbs: make, get, have, let

They are followed by either the bare infinitive (active voice) or the past participle (bare passive infinitive).

The main clause and its predicate in sentence 1 are both active voice, and there is a clear single subject (they) and object

AlpheccaStarsIn sentences 2 and 3, the main clause is active voice, but the predicates are passive. These mixed-voice sentences cannot be converted.2. I had you tailed (by the police).3. I will have you watched (by your teacher)
Another point to follow up: The predicates (passive) can be converted if the agent is specified, but not the entire sentence.
