Hi Mistre Micawbre,

Can we say: " I'm sitted on the chair"?

Beacause I can remember a teacher of mine used to say "please be sitted" when the students stood up at his enterance.

Regards,

Iman

Can we say: " I'm sitted on the chair"?-- No.

Because I can remember a teacher of mine used to say "please be sitted" when the students stood up at his enterance.-- I'm sure that he said 'Please be seated', not 'sitted'.

Anon,

Not every active sentence is passively compatible. I think yours is a good example.

The verb "sit" is one of those that belongs to the irregular family: sit , sat , sat. Conjugation of 'To Sit'
Base Form:Sit
Past Sim
