and

'has been displayed' - e.g. The picture has been displayed.

What is the difference between

'is/are displayed'

and

'has been/have been displayed' ?

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

In the first, the focus is more on the state of the displayed item, akin to,

"it is broken/they are ripped",

while the second addresses the action.

Hi everyone,

Which of the following is correct

1. It is postponed.

2. It has been postponed.

Can someone give more examples on the usage of 'is -ed' and 'has been -ed'?

Thanks.

"is -ed" is the passive voice of the Simple Present Tense.
"has been -ed" is the passive voice of the Present Perfect Tense.

The rules on the usage of the passive of Simple Present and Present Perfect are the same as the rules which are given on the usage of their active modus.

I write a letter - A letter is written.
I've written a letter - A letter has been written.
