Hello,Is my sentence correct?Since roads are old and in poor conditions, agricultural products will be spoiled if they are not transported on time.Thank you for your reply.

From the viewpoint of usage, however, you may need to revise the way you wrote this.

When you use a since clause, you're saying that the truth of everything after the since clause depends on the information in the since clause. For example,

Since it is raining, I should take an umbrella. ~ "I should take an umbrella" is a true statement because it is raining.

So if the information after the since clause is true no matter what is in the since clause, there is something wrong. For example, in the following sentence, the statement after the since clause is true even without the since clause. The since clause has nothing to do with the rest of the sentence. There is something wrong here.

Since violence in schools is increasing, students should study hard if they want to pass their exams.

The same is true of your sentence. This part is true no matter what the condition of roads is.

Agricultural products will be spoiled if they are not transported on time.

Since the regime of Iran supports all international terrorists groups, many countries refuse to issue us a visa.
You see, sometimes you have to use since and explain why something will happen.

Actually my sentence was, Airplanes have had an important role in the development of my countries since roads are old and in poor conditions, agricultural products will be spoiled if they are not transported on time.

Ok, to be on a safe side I will use because instead of since. And, thank you so much CJ for explanation.
