Passive form

Hi! I'm translating a manual on a software...
I've a doubt: does the passive form need the past?
e.g. "the program needs to be ran by the user" is correct?

Nope this is not correct:
The passive forms are built by a form of "to be" and the past participle of the full verb, so it has to be:
"The program needs to be run by the user".
