Passive and processes

Hi,

'We often use the passive to talk about processes.'

Could you explain this, please, because I need to re-explain it to my students?
Are there other structures that can be used to talk about 'processes'?

Thanks.

It doesn't matter who performs the process; it's the same process, so the mention of an agent (subject) is unnecessary. That's why the passive is appropriate.
