Hospital corridor

Nigel passes/comes by/comes past the room he saw the hospital clown entering earlier.

Cut to -

Hospital corridor

Nigel walks down the corridor, wearing a clown costume.


Question: What would make sense and be natural to write here? Would any of my suggestions work?

Note: Nigel wasn't looking for the room, he just stumbled upon it.
