Please read the passage below and rewrite it to make it correct from a language point of view and look readable for children age 8 to 9.
Peter was watching the news bulletin on TV. He heard the newscaster say the word “government” several times while reading news. “The government will start a three-day tree plantation campaign…the government will improve healthcare facilities in public hospitals…the government will look after parks in the city.” Salman wondered how many things the government can do at a time. So, he went to his grandfather and asked him what the job of the government is.

Actually it is 100 percent my effort but I am having problems with punctuation.Again I believe there is nothing wrong with language but it can be simplified, which is why I look up to you teachers and experts.

I have replaced "can:" with "could" in the fourth line but I am having difficulty using punctuation correctly between each statement
