Parts of sentence

What are the parts of this sentence?
- He is known to be a good student

"He" is a subject
"is known to be a good student" - is it a predicate? compound predicate? compound verbal/nominal predicate?

Should I take "is known", "to be" & "a good student" somehow separately?

Thank you for you reply, Englishmaven.

Could you please clarify: is the "verb phrase" still a part of the predicate "Is known to be a good student"?
