Particular

This is what I saw used in a commercial of a Japanese burger place.

How would you native speakers interpret it? Does it make sense in the first place?

We are particular about the taste of hamburg.

Was this written down with "hamburg" uncapitalised, or was it something you heard and have transcribed yourself?

You can see the original here; it's right at the beginning.

"We are particular about the taste of our hamburgers."

I think it is probably just garbled English. Probably they meant "We are particular about the taste of our hamburgers".

"the tastiest recipes of mixing ..." is not natural English either. There are other errors and examples of not-quite-natural English in later captions too.

Hi

I don't think that 'hamburg' (or 'Hamburg') can be used in that way. It's an interesting side question, but the German town of Hamburg doesn't actually seem to specialise in grilled beef. However, German people arriving in the US in the 1930s liked it and I think that's why they're called hamburgers

But, to answer your question, the word 'particular' is definitely OK there.

If it were "particular about the preparation of our hamburgers" or something, I wouldn't have any question. I just wondered if "particular about the taste" sounded natural and made sense.

According to your comments, it seems that it works fine. I see.

Thank you, everyone!
