Is the participle phrase in italics adjectival and modifying the subject 'you'?

You might say that, but if there is any modification going on here, I would say that royalty is the word being modified.

I prefer to think of that participial construction as a a sort of restatement of "treated like royalty". It simply explains in different words what it means to be treated like royalty.

The two sentences do not have the same meaning. You can't explain the first by saying it's equivalent to the second.
