Participle phrase

Respected sir,

I want to ask one question about some grammatical structure.

1) Dr.John travels extensively throughout the world, teaching other doctors and healers, consulting privetly and giving seminars on the secrets of ancient healing methods.

2) Dr.John travels extensively throughout the world, teach other doctors and healers, consult privetly and give seminars on the secrets of ancient healing methods.

My question is : the meaning of both sentences are same ?

if not, then what is difference ?
