Participle clause or not?

Dear teachers, I am curious whether the underlined words are participle clauses or not?
This extract is taken from a grammar book:
When a word ending with a constant sound is followed by a word beginning with .....
instead
When a word which ends with a constant sound is followed by a word which begins with .....

Thanks!

None of the underlined items are participial clauses. The first two are participles which head participial clauses. The other two are subject + verb of a relative clause.

It's my mistake that I didn't underline the whole clauses.
Could confirm for me please that both sentences have the same meaning.
Thanks!

Yes, they have the same meaning. They're just different ways of saying the same thing.
