Participle Clause as Adverb Clause

Hey, guys. How are you? I hope you are doing well.


I'd like you to check these two sentences: Cooked carefully, the food will taste great. - Having taken the wrong bus, I arrived late for the meeting.

"Cooked carefully" is a participial clause acting as an adverbial clause.

"Having taken the wrong bus" is also the same as above.

However, since they are adverbial clauses, they are consequently dependent clauses. Therefore, are the first and the second examples complex or simple sentences?
