Participle after noun - anywhere in sentence OK?

Hi. Please tell me if what are said is correct. Would you say no matter where the parts uderlined be in a sentence, it is correct?

The man in purple shirt/wearing a purple shirt is my friend.

I think the above can be said to be this:

The man who is in purple shirt/ who is wearing a purple shirt is my friend.

Likewise, I think this is correct.

My friend is that man in purple shirt.

And I thinkthis can be written as

The man in purple shirt is my friend.
