Participle

Hello,

1.The guy wearing the chicken costume is my cousin.

The phrase in bold is a participle phrase. This phrase can be considered an adjective.

Is that correct?

2. The guy who is wearing the chicken costume is my cousin.

The (1) can be changed into (2) also. The (2) is a complex sentence, whereas (1) is a simple sentence.

I would like to know whether the sentences having the reduced relative clause as in (1) are simple sentences.

Thanks.

I think.. simple sentence is the one which has only one subject and one verb but, the sentence which has relative prounouns is called 'complex sentence' .

Hello,

1.[The guy who is wearing the chicken costume] is my cousin.

Here the noun phrase is complex.

Whether the sentence is also a complex sentence.

Thanks.
