Participial clause

I feel very old, strolling around the hospital wing in a wheel chair.

Are the words in italics a gerund clause (with the preposition 'by' omitted)?

Or is it a participial phrase answering why?

Thank you

Neither: it is a nonfinite clause acting as a sentence adverb:

Strolling around...wheel chair, I feel very old.
