What about at an event? "participate at an event" or "participate in an event"

Just a thought I'd like to share in connection with the post by 'Anonymous' in which he/she claims it would be correct to say "He participated at Wimbledon many times... he participated at a trade fair.,etc.

I would think that the problem here is with the choice of the word 'participated' when what [ I feel] must be used is the word ' competed' at Wimbledon. It would however stil

Sorry, but I don't see how a participatory approach to a "website" would work. Maybe participation in an activity linked to a website?
Eg.
Participate in writing the HTML code of a website.
or
Participate in the survey on a website.
