Part way through

Hey, everybody! Yet another time I'am troubled with some stuff and begging you for help. So, here it is:

"Fire, the lead single from their current album, was all set to be the best of all, until a technical problem partway through flooded the arena with white noise."

Could you pleaase explain what "partway through" means? Does it mean that by the end of the performance of that single? Or does it mean that the white noise flooded the arena in some degree?

I think the reference is to the song and that the band was halfway through/somewhere in the middle of the song when they started having problems. Part (of the) way through (the song) - DJB -
