Part of speech

Hi
Please guide me to know to what part of speech the word "darken" in the below passage belong? If it is a verb why it doesn't have a third person "s" or if it is a past tense so where is the"ed"? Please guide me:

“As Rayber lay watching the window darken, he felt that all his nerves were stretched through him like high tension wire.”

It is indeed a verb. It is not marked for present or past because it is in the bare infinitive.

Similarly:

watching my daughter swim
watching the days pass
watching the sun rise
