I need some help me with article and capitalization usage in the sentences below.

Which sentence is correct?

Also does the word "team" have to be capitalized?

Hi Dash

I would say either, "Thank you for being part of team Winton.", (preferred) or "Thank you for being a part of the team Winton.". No capitalisation necessary as long as team Winton is not an organisation or business but just an informal group of individuals, i.e. a club quiz team.

Hi Pieanne,

Thanks for the help. Actually Winton is a name I used to substitute for the actual name since it might be a bit sensitive with corporate policy to mention actual names at times.

In that case do you feel that "team" has to be capitalized.

Thanks,

Dash

No, not at all. No "T". I just thought you could also say "part of the Winton team".

hi chief cook;

i got the fact that a 'the' is necessary in the second example. but still, is there any general rule that says that it has to be this way only.

thanks.
