Hi, I don't quite understand a sentence here: Knowledge is a whole and the separate Sciences parts of one. What does "part of" mean here? Consists of? Thank you.

Hi Clive, Thanks for your explanation. Have you read the entire text? I found it very confusing. Does he talk about liberal education in this essay? Is liberal education the same as liberal arts? But why he mentioned sciences at first? Why he talked about scientific knowledge?
