My favorite part of being a student at “x” is running the 2 mile multiple times.


My favorite parts of being a student at “x” is running the 2 mile multiple times.


1 or 2? I feel like it’s 2 as a part is one segment, and if you do it multiple times, shouldn’t it be parts.

It should be "part". We consider this to be one activity, even though you do it multiple times. At minimum I would change "running the 2 mile" to "running the two-mile".

If you were to use "parts" to talk about multiple activities, then you would also need to change "is" to "are":

My favourite parts ... are ... X, Y and Z.
