Parody

Can the word "parody" be applied to a poem which has been composed in response to another poem? For example as an artistic dialogue between two poets?
Thanks

Thank you for your reply. Emotion: smile
Is there any word for a serious and artistic response? I mean without making fun of the first one.

No special word, I think. Response and reply are both fine and standard. Other words, like rejoinder and retort, suggest anger or impatience.

You could consider pastiche.

Many authors have written pastiches of Sherlock Holmes stories, respectfully imitating the literary style of Arthur Conan Doyle.
