Parenthetical phrase

Elizabeth is at a table with a couple of friends while Robert, just arrived, stands in the queue to the bar.

(both are inside the bar)

Is it ok?

Is 'just arrived' what you call a parenthetical phrase? And does it work here?

Thanks a lot.
