I'm confused. Whenever I read a quote, there's almost always a word that is surrounded by ( ).. For example:
"I've seen some of those moves that I've never seen before that I don't even know (are) possible."
"(There are) guys I'd love to get back in the ring."
I'm aware that sometimes, the author that is quoting someone else, will use parenthesis to put background information in. Are they adding to the quote? Replacing words?
