paraphrasing 2

Hello

This time I have only one sentence.

In ceremonial magic of the Middle Ages, the lodestone was engraved with the figure of an armored man. This stone was utilized during rituals to empower magic.

I'm not sure I understand "empower magic"? Does it mean that it was used to intensify the magical processes during the rituals?

Hi

I have another sentence.

"In India, women (presumably rich) wear an unblemished white diamond with a slightly black hue to ensure male children."

the sentence says: ...unblemished white diamond with a slightly black hue... Do you think it's correct? If something is unblemished it, in my opinion, cannot have hues? Do you think the above sentence is awkward?
