Paraphrasing

By mid-1830’s, there were some ideas of liberty and freedom most especially for women working in Lowell because they get paid more money compared to working in farm or working domestic service.“The Lowell strike” also was a sign of freedom and liberty because women had to fight for their rights so that their wages will not be cut. The case of “Judge Ruffin’s Quandary” shows that black people still do not have any liberty or freedom at all, considering the case of Lydia who was shot by her master John Mann as a means of punishment. The court ruling however, did not give much freedom or liberty to black people. The case of “Judge Ruffin’s Quandary” argue that black people weren't equal to the whites. Also their liberty and freedom was diminished as well. John Mann shot Lydia and should face punishment.Blacks felt that this would create liberty for them. The court ruling however, did not give much freedom or liberty to black people.
