Paraphrase

Dear Teachers,

I met with the following sentence yesterday, and I was wondering

what it has to say. I guess I seem to have a general, if not precise,

idea of it, but I am not sure, to be true. Please read my paraphrase and

give me your feedback.

If we are to have a growing elderly population, why not at least have
one that remains active and involved in the community as long as
possible?

My version:

We will inevitably have a rapidly aging society, but we should at least

try to help the aged stay active and involved in the community as long as

possible.

Thank you.

Ray
