1. If I knew the truth, I could let her know soon.
Can I paraphrase this as below?
? Knowing the truth, I could let her know soon.

2.If the accident had happened in a city, it would have caused a disaster.
Can I paraphrase this as below?
?Happening in a city, the accident would have caused a disaster.
