Paranthetical Expression?

Hello everyone,

I feel that commas should enclose “in turn,” because it seems that it would be a parenthetical expression; however, I would value a second opinion:

Original: It will examine the historical value of the site, which would attract tourists, and in turn, provide profitable revenue.

Revised: It will examine the historical value of the site, which would attract tourists, and, in turn, provide profitable revenue.

Which would be correct, or are both correct?

Thanks!

No, the commas are unnecessary – and there are just too damned many commas anyway. The reader will never reach the end of your sentence without a coffee break or a nap. Do this: It will examine the historical value of the site, which could attract tourists and generate revenue.
