parallelism

Hello,

I came across this sentence recently and would like to know why "to" was used instead of "of" before the second gerund:

"This opens up the possibility of attaching a service to this virtual IP and therefore to making it possible to move this service from one server to another.

I think you're right. It is not well-written. But you can't just change the to to of because then it would read--
