Does the the paragraphs below sound native to native's ears?
I haven't thought about this but the opinion at https://www.englishforums.com/English/CouldHavePp/bxdpjn/post.htm#sc2608396 led me to wonder if these paragraphs are written by a native English speaker.
And could someone verify if the underlined "couldn't have been happier" is a mistake of "couldn't be happier"?

A growing number of young people are learning early in life that they can start their own venture and lead social change. They define success not only by what they achieve for themselves, but also by what they do for others. The zones of poverty seemed just a part of the crowded city, always there, unchanging. With a little girl dreaming for a better future, however, the seeds of hope began to grow in the slums. "I'm the only breadwinner in my family. I couldn't have been happier now that I've learned to drive a rickshaw. I am hopeful that it will double my income and help my children's studies," said a 33-year-old woman. She became the first electric rickshaw driver in her community. "Student volunteers help us learn English. We play soccer together on the girls' soccer team in our community. I really like this feeling of being a part of the community. I feel more confident than ever." A girl living in the slums said that she could gain courage and confidence. She said she would be able to overcome any troubles from then on.
