Do these paragraph make sense (and particularly the part in bold):



a) "Donald Trump said that people should inject desinfectant to cure themselves from covid-19, and afterwards he said he was being sarcastic. I think he said he was being sarcastic to try to escape from this and still look good."


b) "Donald Trump said that people should inject desinfectant to cure themselves from covid-19, and afterwards he said he was being sarcastic. I think he said he was being sarcastic to try to save his face."
