Exercise 1: Correct the faulty parallelism in the following sentences:

1- Peter gets her daily exercise by walking her dog, going for a bike ride, and cleaning.

2- The TLC can help your writing skills, to gain independence, and confidently completing your assignment.

Exercise 2: Rewrite the following sentences to repair any misplaced words or dangling modifiers

1- We gave the old clothes to a local charity that had been piled up in the basement.

2- to lose weight, fatty food should be avoided.

3- Carrying a heavy pile of books, her foot caught on the step.

4- The new student will take the corner seat wearing the muscle shirt.

Exercise 3: Identify the good topic sentences in the following examples and EXPLAIN:

A- Everybody loves pizzas.

B- Through pizza has its roots in Italy, this much-loved fast food has become a true world traveler

C- It is estimated that 5 billion pizzas are bought worldwide each year.

My own correction:

1 - Peter gets her daily exercise by walking her dog, going for a bike ride, and cleaning her house.

2- The TLC can help your writing skills, to gain independence, and confidence in completing your writing assignment.

Exercise 2:

1- We gave the old clothes that had been piled up in the basement to a local charity.

2- to lose weight, foods with fat should be avoided.

3- Carrying a heavy pile of books, her foot stuck on the step.

4- The new student will take the corner seat wearing a shirt showing his muscles.

Exercise 3:

The first sentence is too general so it can not be a good topic sentence.

The 2nd is a good topic sentence because it is clear and precise

The third is too specific for a good topic sentence.
