Can you be so kind to correct my mistakes in this paragraph? I would be very grateful for your help.

This is the real tragic story about the team of sled dogs which was left behind in Antarctica by two explorers and which had to fend for their survival.


In the Antarctic, after an expedition, the sled dog trainer Jerry Shepherd had to leave the polar base with his colleagues because there was a certain risk of a heavy snow storm. He tied his dogs and left them because he was sure that after some hours the dogs would be rescued by another explorer, but the mission was failed and the dogs could do nothing but fight for their salvation in this icy and snowy trap.


As they were tied, they couldn’t easily escape from the terrible cold and wind. Unfortunately, two of these lovely dogs couldn’t get rid of the leash and died. The rest six dogs had to survive in this icy desert.


For six months, Jerry, the explorer, tried to find a sponsor for a rescue mission while his dogs fight for survival. At last, he came back to Antarctica and saved his friends. What a miraculous rescue! The only pity is that not all dogs stayed alive.
