This is a short paragraph from the early days of U2.
This is the summer where it all went off. This is where Hot Press started becoming incredibly supportive. And the philosophy of the editor Niall Stokes and journalists of Hot Press started to feel more believable to us than, for example, the NME. When we look at it now, a kind of Maoist, cultural revolution was going on in England. Two legs bad, four legs good. Fashionista. Whereas Hot Press felt rounded, there was real politics involved. There was also a sense of music being part of Ireland's coming of age. I couldn't underestimate the importance of Hot Press and Bill Graham and Niall Stokes and Liam Mackey. They were coming to see us all the time. There were good feelings about the band - they could be important. Something could happen here.
1. What Bono might mean by saying: Two legs bad, four legs good. Fashionista???
2. Does it mean that Hot Press was a great magazine, but (unfortunately) they also wrote about politics?
3. Does it mean that they (U2) felt that the music they played at the time reflected Ireland growing in power?
4. I think "they could be important" refers to all these guys (Graham, Stokes)?
cheers
