Reality shows are becoming a trend in all over the world. They are raising more popularities for three main reasons. Firstly, reality shows are being made so ‘real’. Networks and producers try to convince viewers that they are watching truly realistic scenarios, yet it is obvious that we are simply being fed scriptless films. However, regardless if the viewers know that the shows are being staged or not they will always tune in to witness the turmoil, hate and discontent that these shows regularly promote. Secondly, reality television allows people to imagine gaining fame through media exposure. People can simply sit and fantasize about becoming a celebrity themselves. Even though the individuals in reality television are viewed as malevolent characters, when people tune in to watch, ratings increase. Thirdly, reality shows are great tools for people to escape from home lives or occupation. Reality televisions are widely considered to be mindless entertainment but they give millions of people releases from their typical unsatisfactory lives. In conclusion, reality shows have become a large part of popular culture today and provides hours of entertainment to countless people and personally, at least in 10 years, they can not loose their audiences.
