Own

Hello Teachers,

1.Biren's own mother had written several of the books.

"own" means possesion of something.

Biren's mother = mother of Biren.

Why two possesive (Biren's,own) before the word "mother" has been used?

Can we omit "own" from this sentence?

2.Birens' mother had written several of the books.

Is (1) and (2) reflect same meaning?

Thanks.

The word 'own' is often used to emphasize, Hanuman. Without knowing more of the context here, it's hard to say whether it could be dropped or not. Of course, the same meaning would be derived if it were dropped but the emphatic factor would also be removed.
