Oversea and overseas

Hi, can you tell me what's the diferent between "oversea" and "overseas"? It seems that both words can be a adj or adv. Thank you for replying!

Say overseas. My dictionary says 'oversea' is a variant, but I never see it.

Personally, I've often heard Americans refer to Canada as 'overseas', which always makes me smile.

'Overseas' is the word commonly used. As Clive said, 'oversea' may exist but, like Clive, I have never seen or heard it.

Both variants are used where I live (Canada). You can use either one, as they're both correct.
