overlook

Don't worry, I'll overlook your papers.

"overlook" means both ignoring and checking. It seems the sentence renders two meaning .Am I wrong? How do you differantiate the meaning then? Thanks alot.

Hello MrC, For me, "overlook" means "ignore", while "look over" means "review". It may be different for other speakers, though! Best wishes MrP

For me, "overlook" means "ignore", while "look over" means "review".

It may be different for other speakers, though!
