overlook...

Hi!!

I just went to one of my friends blog, and noticed her word of yesterday.

" A real friend overlooks an unforgivable mistake."

here, the word 'overlook' means 'ignore'?

/*

Well, I wonder what an unforgivable mistake she made...

Another example of human being, no one perfect, I agree with one my teacher, he said,

"NO one is perfect, so you learn from experiences to be better."

*/

One more question, it sounded a bit contracted.

A lady yesterday said,

"He is really a good boss, he is unreal."

What's she meant here, 'unreal' ?

Let's me guess, "he is amazing!"

Is it something like that?

Thanks in advance!!

Have a lovely day ~

here, the word 'overlook' means 'ignore'? I think overlook means something similar, what about 'to forgive'?

«...can it also be what I have just said?»

Probably no. The boss is so good that she didn't expect such a boss could exist at all, thus "unreal".

Hi,

Just noticed that Clive said it means 'amazing', can it also be what I have just said? Yes, it can. 'Unreal' is one of those intensifier words that take their meaning from the context.

He is a really good boss, he is unreal. means he's a very good boss.

He is a really bad boss, he is unre

Beyond expectations/the expected norm, in both cases.
